The multi-award-winning Tr88House recreational complex in Dubai, designed by Shahrooz Zomorrodi, has won a silver prize in the prestigious A’ Design Award Competition 2023.
The A’ Design Award and Competition is recognized as being one of the world’s most prestigious and influential design accolades, rewarding exceptional design excellence. On 19th July, Shahrooz Zomorrodi attended the award’s high-profile Gala Night and Awards Ceremony on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, where he received the coveted award.
The fantastical Tr88House recreation complex on Bluewaters in Dubai features an exaggerated scale, taking design and recreation in the UAE to new heights.
From its magical make-believe forest-like Hive Food Hall to the sophisticated
88 Terrace, the approximately 100,000-square foot (9,300-square meter) complex offers a multi-sensorial experience that was designed by the architect exclusively for this out-of-the-box project.
The three-floor project includes entertainment facilities for the whole family – from a fun-filled trampoline zone and a soft play area for children to ‘Mystic Mini Golf’ and a futuristic laser tag games center.
Bionic architectural architecture principles were used to ensure that the interiors are nature-friendly and enhance the concept. Zomorrodi imported over 190 sustainably grown pine tree trunks from New Zealand to be the main protagonists of the forest setting.
The interior is a visualization of a dream (or even a nightmare) that Zomorrodi had as a child – one that centers around both the lure and the fear of the forest. A place where you can get lost and discover new things; a place where you never really know where to look or who or what is observing you.
Multi-award-winning architect Zomorrodi’s eponymous practice has bagged an impressive number of awards for its architectural and interior projects and is regularly featured in the regional and international media – including titles such as the prestigious Italian title Domus, as well as Commercial Interior Design, Design Middle East, Harmonies and Lamasat Décor.
