The Arad Marina Complex, located in Nur, Mazandaran, Iran, is a mixed-use development blending residential and commercial spaces, including a fresh market, cinema, entertainment areas, food court, and residential amenities. Currently under construction, the project is uniquely positioned as a mediator between land and sea, embodying an architectural vision that seeks harmony between human interaction and the natural environment.

Designed with a focus on transparency and openness, the complex acts as more than just a physical bridge between land and sea. While its tall structure initially interrupts the natural flow between sea and jungle, the project evolves into a space where nature becomes a dominant force. Each unit is conceived as a “vessel” that allows nature to penetrate and thrive throughout the space, creating a gallery-like atmosphere where minimalism and greenery are key. As occupants and visitors move downward through the structure, human activity increases, transforming spaces to foster social interaction while maintaining nature as a surprising and integral element.

Key design features include the use of neutral colors, architectural lighting, and natural vegetation, with a deliberate focus on minimal human intervention in material selection, such as rough natural stone and uniform textures. The main commercial areas, designed as flexible and open industrial spaces, retain structural transparency, with nature subtly reclaiming the environment. These spaces evoke the feeling of a celebration in an unfinished building by the sea, where nature has triumphed over architecture.
