Palm Agritourism Center involves the public in guided visits. The program allows nature lovers to experience conventional and modern agricultural practices and aims to increase the demand for locally-grown produce. In addition to escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life of Dubai, to unwind in the lap of nature and enjoy a wide range of outdoor recreational activities, residents and visitors can purchase high-quality farm-fresh food products.
Palm is one of the best-known and most widely planted tree families. They have held an important role for humans throughout much of history. Many common products and foods
come from palms.
Designing a unique and innovative space for families, students, and tourists, to increase the general knowledge about the incredible palm. Using natural materials is an important demand to be considered in this project to get to a Vernacular architectural design. the complex includes a lecture hall, dates packaging workshop, dates and souvenirs shop, gallery, cafe and restaurant, admin offices, service areas like washrooms and restrooms, and landscape design including bike roads, area for farm animals, seating areas, walking roads and… for about 70-50 people for using during the day time.
Our devoted thought-provoking attention to the traditional heritage is based on a sort of natural material and total harmony with the environment. green building or sustainable construction, which aims to use more natural or traditional building materials as opposed to the conventional materials which require more energy to produce. These materials are more easily found in nature, do not take as much energy (and produce more carbon dioxide) to mass produce, and do not contribute as much to the pollution of the earth as opposed to the conventional building materials previously. The human impulse to assign affective properties to phenomena and objects seems limitless; this is why using natural materials is more demandable.
The main idea of the project was born through respecting these valuable palms and preventing cutting even only one of them. It requires design strategies based on our conceptual form. We need some large-scale spaces with panorama views while there is only about eight meters’ distance between palm trees. The voids which are integrated with the whole semi-tent structure are designed to embrace palm trees.
we have a view of the up, sky, natural lights, and the large palm trees in some parts. Our form has risen to the sky in some places where there is a palm tree to emphasize the idea of reaching infinity and the value of this element. This form is ultimately like a desert with low hills, through which palm trees rise to the sky.
The whole Components designed in this site follow this flow form, even paths like bike paths and walking paths. There are about 1000 palm trees of different types in the site with approximately 60,000 square meters of area.
